The base price of $49.95 is for dual power bifocal lenses that are made from crystal clear optical plastic material.
These bifocals HAVE a power on top. That top power is weaker than the bifocal power on the bottom. Why? Many people find that their normal readers are too strong when they look at their computer. This is because it's easier to focus on farther objects, in this case, the computer monitor.
Most over-the-counter bifocals on the market today have zero power on top, and this is insufficient as we age. To put it bluntly, many seasoned people can't read a thing without some help. DebSpecs worked with partner opticians and lab techs to develop a high quality dual power bifocal. Select the power drop down menu for power to view all the combinations of powers. Though we don't fill prescriptions or specialize the lenses, we tried to expand our selection to cover most people's needs.
Most customers have an idea what they need, because they already use two pair of readers and switch off every time they look from their desk to their computer. If you are uncertain, you can try the eye chart, but try it TWICE. First, make sure the chart is 5" wide. Read it at 14", or the distance you read close up materials. That will estimate the bifocal portion. Then read it at the distance you normally view your computer. That will estimate the upper lens.
These are lined bifocal lenses and feature high end optical cr39 material, weaker power on top with your usual reading power located on the bottom. Classic rectangular eyeglass frame, incredible colors, and high quality tr90 flexible yet resilient plastic.
For $10 more, you can upgrade to a high end blue filter BIFOCAL lens.
These are VERY hard to find, with excellent properties to filter blue and UV light, as well as help reduce bright light induced insomnia.
If you select the computer lens, they DO have a moderate amber tint which is important to promote a healthy sleep cycle. 99% UV and 32% blue light filtration. See the second product photo in the gallery to view the tint. Please note that the tint may appear slightly different depending on your lighting situation. The photo above was taken in a brightly lit photo tent.
