Alert on the Post Office Site: USPS is experiencing unprecedented volume increases and limited employee availability due to the impacts of COVID-19. We appreciate your patience and remain committed to delivering the holidays to you.

  • Unfortunately the warning above is not just a disclaimer taken from the US Post Office website. The delays in some areas are very real. It has been explained to me by our contacts at the Post Office that many depots, both local and distribution centers, are heavily impacted by COVID19, where they are operating at half staff or less. This is compounded by the highest ever package volume due to holidays plus increased remote shopping. HOW this impacts deliveries is two fold. The most obvious is slower mail. First class AND Priority packages have been taking sometimes TWO weeks to reach their destination. ANOTHER WAY IT IMPACTS US IS THE TRACKING ON THE POST OFFICE WEBSITE. MANY PACKAGES WILL SAY IT WAS PICKED UP, BUT THEN THE TRACKING WILL SIMPLY STOP. THE PACKAGE WILL APPEAR LOST, BUT WE CAN ASSURE YOU IT'S NOT. THEY SIMPLY DON'T HAVE THE STAFF TO SCAN ALL THE PACKAGES ALONG THE WAY.
  • To maintain the safety of our employees and community, we are operating on limited staff. Please leave a message if our customer service rep can't answer the phone right away, and she will get back to you asap.
  • It is preferable that you email or live chat with product questions. The reason is, we have a bunch of automated replies. For example, if you want to know about bifocal readers, or no line readers, we have the reply with all the info and links ready to go. But someone IS there if you need us!
  • We WILL answer emails and LiveChats
  • For BETTER "optical" glasses- Our partner optical labs ARE NOW OPEN. It will take a little longer, due to limited staffing. The delay warning has been posted on those product pages, so you don't have to guess which products we're referring to.
  • Jimmy Crystal is now also open, so the Swarovski sparkly glasses will ship. Keep in mind, these already take awhile to custom make, and due to limited staffing it will take a bit longer Delay warning also posted on the product pages.
  • +8, +10, +12 back in production
  • For the near future, the products featured in this email will be only well stocked items.
  • Items without a delay warning, mostly ready to wear readers with a price point under $30 we will be able to ship same day as per our regular policy.
