Casual and cozy, flannel plaid became all the rage about 2 years ago and signs show that it is here to stay. Though most fads come and go, flannel plaid is an enduring wardrobe staple that is practical yet balances earthy and snooty. (Think golf!) One of the charms of plaid is how easy it is to get dressed. Just throw on a pair of jeans and a saddle bag with earthy shoes and you're good to go, right? Well, not so fast. What about your glasses? Paring eyeglasses with Prince Charles Edward flannel takes a little planning. You wouldn't want to wear ultra feminine pink sparkly readers. Nor would dramatic tortoise pattern readers look good, as the mismatched patterns would clash, and not in a good way.
Pictured are a few examples that would enhance the look.
- Top: Tai Chi is an ultra thin frame in black. The light frame adds a subtle touch, almost like a garnish. It's also available in red, which would match well.
- Second: Reese Beautiful deep red color and flattering round shape give the plaid an elegant, classy touch. Think British Royalty or Burberry inspired.
- Third: Sam features lush acetate and double rivets that take give the outfit a hipster, modern edge.
- Lastly, Prestige, the split metal frame sparkly readers. Gorgeous on their own, these glasses would wreck this look.
