Finally, a melanin-lens that you can wear over your prescription eyeglasses. Before now, you could only get Melanin computer lenses with no power, or in reading powers. Those of us who had to go the the eye doctor for glasses were out of luck. Only if you paid a hefty price for customized lenses, could you combine your prescription with Melanin protection. Now, you can simply wear these over your glasses.
  • 5-1/2" x 1-3/4" fits over small and average sized prescription glasses
  • These are only in NO power, as they are designed to go over your glasses.

    Kills the Blue
Yeah, they're heavy, but they're sturdy. I added a pair of stick on nose pads (available at your pharmacy) to ease the stress on the bridge of my nose. So far, so much more comfortable. The lenses kill the bluish cast of my screen for a much better experience.

    too heavy for me
I realize that I have an issue with heavy glasses. These are really uncomfortable for me over my glasses. I do like the lens however. I may just order a melanin pair with a reader prescription. As my prescription changes, I thought that this would be economical, but it's just way too heavy for me. I'm typing this without wearing them because of that.

    Melanin Computer Wear-Over Glasses
The customer service from Debs Specs gets 5-stars. My puppy ate the first pair I ordered, and they offered free shipping via USPS Priority Mail. Shipping would otherwise have cost $7.95.
The lenses also get 5-stars. What they lack in sturdiness (thin plastic lenses), they make up for in efficacy. They WORK. I spend a lot of time on my computer and iPad, and an increase of use with the iPad started causing headaches and other vision problems, such as my eyes sometimes taking as long as three hours to fully adjust from putting the iPad down.
No more headaches, no more eye strain.
I even wear these while watching television at night, on a 55" LED display. It's more comfortable to do so with the lights down.
The frame and lenses get 3-stars. I'd have rather they'd been made of stronger materials. If through normal wear and tear they are broken or cracked within a year or two I won't be surprised.

    Computer Glasses Wear-overs
I really did not know how much the screen was affecting my eyes. Since I have transition lenses, I thought they might be darkening but they do not. I have Cocoons for driving that are similar to the Wear-Overs. I can tell you it is more comforting to use the computer now, especially since I spend hours reading and being an on-line activist.
    These are worth every penny.
